My life consists of riding my horse Rio, writing and reading, decorating, drinking wine and eating incredible food with new and old friends. I was fortunate to grow up in a house on the hills overlooking Napa Valley with a loving family and a fat miniature horse. After attending college at Long Beach State University, obtaining my BA in Creative Writing and Literature, I decided to use my degree to its maximum potential: work as the first hostess at Carpe Diem Wine Bar in Napa (Yes, I moved back home with my parents after college. Good thing they are wicked awesome). Also, if I had not moved back home I never would have met the love of my life, boyfriend, roommate and favorite Chef, Scott Isaac Coles. Together, we have worked in multiple restaurants in Napa, and driven across country to spend one year in Charleston, South Carolina. Recently, we relocated to Harrisonburg, Virginia, for new lifestyle opportunities.
“The Marti Parti” was a name given to me by a former coworker at Carpe Diem. At first I thought it a degrading nickname. However, I eventually embraced it as my identity; because, I’m a cheery, curly-headed lady whose philosophy is to keep everyone’s (wine) glass half full.
I finally set aside my fear of being a narcissist to create a personal blog showcasing my creations, events I’ve coordinated, and my latest hobby, photography. However, this site is wholeheartedly dedicated to sharing everything that I find worth celebrating.
Cheers, Miss Marti Parti
